Krypton brings arXiv and OpenAlex results into one search flow, ranks papers with visible criteria, and uses Gemini to help readers summarize and explore the literature.
A useful paper search has to merge results from different APIs, handle missing citation data, and make ranking understandable to the person reading it.
The backend searches arXiv and OpenAlex, enriches citation data, and scores results with TF-IDF relevance, publication recency, and citation counts. Personalization can adjust the weights for a reader’s interests and goals.
Krypton won first place at the university Project Expo. The live product offers multi-source search, transparent ranking, paper summaries, and a reading-plan interface.
